My goal was to reach Buffalo Wyoming which was approximately the half way point to my rustic campsite at Yellowstone. Prior to arriving in Buffalo Wyoming I called a couple places about parking my camper but most of them wanted to charge me an arm and a leg or more than $40 just to park my camper for one night. I don’t need hookups as my camper is essentially a hard shell tent on wheels. I did find a small hotel with good people that let me park in an area on their property for a couple of bucks. The place had About 10 small cottages as it’s lodging and it was about 100 years old. There is a make shift courtyard that folks gathered at night and I got a little bit of the places history from its long term tenants.
The town of Buffalo seemed to be doing ok economically, with a lot of small shops and eatery’s. I asked a woman at a small shop what the population was and she said something to the effect of “4585” “just bout the same as the elevation”. I remarked that condom sales were probally up to maintain that status which was returned with a somewhat bewildered look, so I just left it at that.
