Minnesota
After leaving Iowa I was to stay somewhere in Minnesota. A guy once told me that Minnesota was easily one of the most beautiful states in the country and since it was a good stop over point on my way to the badlands I figured what the hootenanny! (With a Minnesota accent). Off I went! It was a Great location right off Rt 90 West called the flying geese lake or something to that effect. It was a beautiful lake with a very soothing breeze coming off of it. One thing of note is when I first arrived I walked a mile or two around the place and it was full with rv trailers (at least 50) but not one person! I felt like I had stepped into an episode of the twilight zone and was so perplexed by the absence of humans I took it upon myself to go back down to the office and ask wtf was up? He told me that everybody came on the weekends and as if on cue another overnighted pulled up and checked in, weird. There was a young guy goes by the name of Didlo who was camped by me. He had started in Connecticut and was also doing the cross country trek. He explained that he wanted to go off on adventure after finishing school and take some time seeing the country before he locked into a career. Bravo, I said, I’m kinda on the same track only on the back end. We chatted into the evening and it was great to hear a young guys perspective on everything from politics to science. Woke up the next morning, broke camp and made a beeline for the Badlands
