Once you get on Grand Road past the town of Cody in Wyoming you are in store for some of the most spectacular scenery the universe has ever created. I drove along in complete amazement. My next stop was Madison campground on the Montana side of Yellowstone National Park. I had misjudged my days/ travel and arrived a day early but was unable to reserve a spot that night so I was left to my devices in a small town on the west side of Yellowstone Park called West Yellowstone. Well they say to keep it simple!
I was able to pay for a spot to “camp” in a motel parking lot on fire hole street. I thought about the town and how it was aptly named, the thought about “firehole” with all the motels on the street before quickly evicting that thought from my head. Yikes!
