I left Cottonwood on Monday 10/29. I absolutely fell in love with this place. The area is nestled in what’s called the Verde Valley and is surrounded by spectacular Mountain View’s on 4 sides. As previously mentioned, I extended my stay beyond the one week originally planned. I know it had a lot to do with the time of year but the climate is perfect here. The locals complained of a “cold snap” that arrived while I was there, which brought to low temperature into the 50s. Everybody walked around wearing coats and hats like it was Christmas! I spent much of my time here hiking, exploring, working on music, painting and researching real estate pricing should the wind blow me back again. There are some really neat places here and I particularly liked a little town called Jerome Az. Which has a wonderful art like culture. Music, painting, crafts, shops and restaurants. It is reported that certain buildings in the town are haunted and the locals swear by their “sightings”. All part of the culture. I really felt connected to the area and will certainly return someday.
